Flight: Lufthansa LH2485 / LH1856 LHR – MUC – MXP

Class: Economy

Ticket: Revenue ticket

Aircraft:  Airbus A321 and Embraer 195

Comments:  The trip didn’t start off very well.  The check-in agent at LHR was chewing gum and didn’t say a word to me.  I can’t say I’ll miss the Terminal 1 Star Alliance lounge when it closes.  Even at 6AM there was very little food left and what there was, was greasy and unhealthy.  The first leg was delayed by 20 minutes due to insufficient ground staff being available to load the bags.  Once in the air, service was fine with a full bar service.  I was offered the choice of a chicken sandwich or a vegetarian pizza.  I ordered the chicken and it turns out that it was in fact turkey with cheese.  It had been heated up and turned out to be a disgusting gloopily calorific mess.  After a short stop in Munich and a quick visit to the Senator lounge, which did have an excellent food selection, I boarded the Air Dolomiti Embraer operatically named Madama Butterfly.  Before take-off we were offered a refreshing towel.  The cellar was excellent and served in real glasses.  The food was unfortunately pig salami with grissini and there was no alternative.  Arrival was on time and priority bags were off first.
